With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kenneth Scott Henderson, a proud family man, devoted father, and grandfather. He was called to his heavenly home on November 15, 2025, at the age of 67, surrounded by those who loved him most.
Scott (most knew him as) was born in Fort Gordon, Georgia, to Ralph Lamar Henderson and Mary Orie Truitt. He was the fourth of six children. He graduated from Gulfport High School in 1976. He dedicated most of his career to law enforcement, including crime scene investigation and detective work in the state of Mississippi. Scott attended Liberty University, where he received his master’s degree in criminal justice in 2014 at the age of 56. He had recently received his certification and was working as a Private Investigator in the state of Louisiana.
His sharp mind and passion for learning made him someone that others looked to for insight, guidance, and conversation that always ran deeper than expected. He was a lifelong learner and eventually became a professor, sharing his knowledge with others.
Kenneth Scott Henderson is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Lamar Henderson; his mother, Mary Orie Truitt; and his siblings, Bubba Henderson and Jeff Henderson. His nephew, Christopher Callahan.
Kenneth Scott Henderson is survived by his two children: Cameron (his wife, Rachel) Densmore and Hanna (her husband, Laramie) Glover, and his seven grandchildren: Scarlet Guzman, Ezra Guzman, Rowan Densmore, Ezekiel Glover, Sophia Ross, and Levi Densmore. His siblings, Ricky Henderson, Reba (Luke) Morgan, Paul Henderson, Jerry Cooper, Larry Cooper, and Beth Porter. His many nieces and nephews, including Ricky (Lissette) Callahan, as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
He leaves behind a legacy of knowledge, curiosity, and love that will continue to live on in each of them.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Gateway Assembly, located on 11179 Highway 165 N, in Sterlington, Louisiana.
