Minister Carol Sue Moore, age 71, of Madisonville, Kentucky, passed away on November 18, 2025. She was born on August 16, 1954, to Garnett and Vera Moore. A dedicated and passionate individual, Carol was a graduate of West Hopkins High School, where she laid the foundation for her academic journey. She furthered her education at Murray State University, earning her Bachelor of Science degree, and later obtained her master’s degree from Liberty University.
Throughout her career, Carol made a significant impact as a Counselor at Caris Counseling and served as an ordained Minister at the Disciples of Christ Church of God in Christ on Madisonville. Her commitment to helping others and her faith were central to her life’s work.
Carol is preceded in death by her beloved parents, her daughter Tosha Marie Pettus, her sister Ramona Denton-Fireline, and her brothers Kenneth Moore and Gerald Denton, as well as her brother-in-law Willie Simpson.
She is survived by her cherished daughter, Cameka Shelby; her siblings Garnett (Nancy) Moore, Westly (Janice) Moore, and Patricia Simpson; her sister-in-law Phyllis Moore; along with 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disciples of Christ Christian Worship, Church of God, located at 552 E. Center St, Madisonville, KY.
Carol's legacy will live on through the love she shared and the lives she touched.
