Kenneth Hinkel, 79 of Mansfield, CT passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4,2023 at his home.
He was born on January 17, 1943 in Willimantic, CT to the late George Hinkel and Lucy (Luciani)Ryan. Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, JoAnn Battaglia. He also leaves three children and their spouses: Anthony D. Hinkel and Lori Rosebush, Timothy M. Hinkel and Michael Johnson, as well as Kristen (Hinkel) and Chris Millix. Kenneth is also survived by his siblings: George and Olga Hinkel, Pauline (Hinkel) Bernard, Sandra (Ryan) Crosthwaite, Geri (Ryan) Roberge, and Patrick and Ann (Konieczko) Ryan. Kenny is also leaving five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
At age 17, Kenny enlisted in the US Navy as an electrician on a subtender. He then worked for Pioneer Parachutes for the space boosters for NASA. Lastly, Kenny worked and retired as an HVAC technician with CT Mutual.
Kenny loved winter camping with his friends, always tinkering with his motorcycles and classic rock and roll. He was the "Jack of All Trades" and was always willing to help anyone in need.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
