Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chapel Hill Mortuary & Memorial Gardens - Cedar Hill on Mar. 13, 2024.
Hollenberg, Kenneth Gayle, of
House Springs, Missouri, was born August 27, 1947 in
St. Louis, Missouri to Kenneth Hollenberg and Mary Marie (nee Brookshire) Brocato and entered into rest Friday, March 8, 2024 in O'Fallon, Missouri at the age of 76 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Hollenberg and Mary Marie (nee Brookshire) Brocato.
He is survived by his two (2) daughters: Kim (Todd) Megenity and Lisa Luedde; four (4) grandchildren: Audrey Luedde, Ava Luedde, Mason Megenity, and Mari Megenity; three (3) brothers: Rick Hollenberg, Scott Brocato, and Mark Brocato; along with numerous other extended family and friends.
Ken was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished brother. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Ken's journey was one filled with passion and dedication. Even as a young boy, he had a love for
cars. It's not a surprise he dedicated his life to his automotive shop where he became a beloved
member of the community. We have fond memories of the go carts and dune buggies he made
when we were young.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Ken was known for his sense of humor and for his outgoing
nature. He never met a stranger. He loved his pets like they were family, and loved
to shoot at the range and hunt.
Ken had a rhythm to his life that extended beyond the workshop and the wilderness. He loved
music and in his later years you couldn't keep him from hitting the dance floor, where his infectious energy and enthusiasm lit up the room. Watching him enjoy listening to music and dancing with him gave us no greater pleasure.
Ken's presence in the lives of those around him was truly irreplaceable. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion that will continue to inspire and uplift others for years to come.
Ken has been reunited by Christ with his wife Sandra Hollenberg of 53 years where they are holding hands and dancing together again. He will be deeply missed by his beloved children, grandchildren, and siblings, as well as a wide circle of friends and colleagues. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will live on in the memories we hold dear.
A Visitation celebrating Ken's life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30,
