Kenneth George Huser, of Fletcher, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock.
Kenneth was born on May 19, 1954, in Pandora, Ohio, to the late George Rolland Huser and Ann Jeanette Dearth. Over the years he called several places home, including Pandora, Ohio, and Lorida, Florida, before eventually settling in Western North Carolina.
Kenneth built a career as a facility manager in the hotel and environmental management industry, where his strong work ethic and practical skills earned the respect of those around him. Known by many as the man who could fix just about anything, Kenneth took great pride in working with his hands. He especially enjoyed woodworking and spending time tending to his land with his beloved Farmall tractors.
His passion for nature and conservation played an important role in his life. Kenneth was involved in the Kissimmee River Restoration Project in Florida and worked with Florida Atlantic University, where he shared his knowledge and enthusiasm by leading ecotours of the Kissimmee River Restoration area. He also served as an instructor for the Florida Master Naturalist Program, specializing in ornithology within the Kissimmee–Okeechobee–Everglades region.
Affectionately known as “Captain,” Kenneth was a U.S. Coast Guard–certified Master Captain and had a deep appreciation for time spent on the water.
On July 6, 2004, Kenneth married Patricia Ann English. Together they built a life centered around family. He was a devoted father whose greatest joy came from his five daughters, whom he loved dearly.
Kenneth is survived by his brother, Kevin; his daughters, Heidi, Mandy, Katie, Shannon, and Megan; and his cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Parker, Kendall, Kelsie, Sarah, Carrie, Harper, and Oliver.
He will be remembered for his resourcefulness, his love of nature, his steady guidance, and the lasting impact he had on the lives of those who knew him.
