Kenneth Jeffery Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 1, 2023.
Jeffery, Kenneth Ritchie- age 93 of Veterans Place, Yarmouth passed away peacefully on July 31,2023, with his daughters Cindy and Gail by his side. Born in Pleasant Lake, Yarmouth Co., NS he was a son to the late Harvey and Gladys (Wyman) Jeffery. He was a well-liked man that would do anything for anyone. Kenneth was a member of the Yarmouth Legion Branch 61. He left school at the age of 14 along with his brothers to help support his siblings after the death of their father. He worked at Boutliers and Prossor's Timber Yard in 1944 on the wood truck. He was a Korean War Veteran of the 81st field regiment. He was granted leave for 2 days in 1951 to marry the love of his life on November 22, 1951. He worked 3 years on the Lurcher then he was later employed at the Cotton Mill as the Chief boilerman from 1960-1991. He enjoyed working in his gardens cutting trees in the woods and getting his firewood ready for winter. He loved his family and proved it by the love he always shared amongst us. Every day he would walk up the hill to rub his horseshoe in a tree for good luck, which was a tradition we all learned in his later years.
