Kenneth Jensen Obituary
Published by Legacy on Nov. 11, 2025.
St. George, Utah – Kenneth Ronald Jensen, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away suddenly Friday, November 7, 2025.
Ron was born January 15, 1973, to Paul and Joyce Jensen. He grew up in the shadow of the red hills of southern Utah, riding bikes, playing basketball, and being on construction sites with his dad. Ron excelled in scouting and earned his Eagle Scout Award and served a two-year mission in Texas for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Growing up in the world of construction, after his fair share of pulling nails, sweeping up and cleaning concrete forms, Ron watched his father earn a reputation for integrity and hard work in St. George. Ron inherited that same vision and love for creating homes. He could take a basic set of house plans and with a red pen, tracing paper, and a scale ruler turn the drawings into a masterful home design. After earning a degree in Construction Management at BYU, he returned to St. George as a second-generation builder. Ron and his team at Jensen + Sons considered crafting the family home a significant responsibility and an opportunity to be honored. This reverence for his trade in turn fueled his reputation for exacting details with an impeccable standard of quality. Ron's homes, many of them appearing in the Southern Utah Parade of Homes, have been a testament of his team's stellar craftsmanship and design.
In 1997, Ron married Shannon Quinn. They had four beautiful children. More than anything Ron loved his kids. Lately, he was ecstatic over his new role as grandpa. He spoke often to others of his kids' lives and how much he loved them.
Ron was at his core a mentor. In 2012, Ron converted his love of mountain biking into an opportunity to foster young people in the sport. With parents, kids, and a supportive community, Ron began the Flying Monkeys Mountain Bike competition team for high school students in the Southern Utah area. Many youths were buoyed, challenged, strengthened and loved in the 7 years of his involvement with them. The team was so successful and popular that within a few short years, there were enough participants to create a team in every high school in the area.
Ron was an avid outdoorsman and thrived on adventure and being in nature. Fishing, biking, canoeing, backpacking and being with family and friends while in the wild were second nature to Ron.
In 2024 Ron married Janet Kinkade. She is the love of his life. Her perfect kindness and innate ability to love everyone gave him the peace and hope he had been searching for. Together they dreamt big, loved their family intensely, and looked forward to a beautiful future. Though their time together was brief, their days were full as they gathered and created memories in every meaningful way they could. From international trips to laughter-filled game nights, their time was spent where it mattered most and with those they loved deeply.
Most of all, Ron's dream was a home with Janet with a crowded table of beloved family and cherished friends. Though he was known to many as a builder of beautiful buildings, his greatest work was casting a net of love and inclusivity. He will be fiercely missed.
Ron is survived by Janet and her wonderful children and his own four children: Ryan (Maddy), Noah (Lily) and grandson Jack, Joshua, and Patton.
