Kenneth Wayne Johnson

JOHNSON, KENNETH W. of Metamora and Mesa, AZ, passed away July 25, 2024 at 83 years of age. Loving husband of the late Barbara (née Keoppen); cherished father of Jill (Todd) Finley, Tim Johnson, and Todd (Leyla) Johnson; grandfather of Kevin, Alison (fiancée Mbaye), Alec, Alicia (fiancée Adam), and Signal; brother of Ron (Jim) Johnson and Linda (Larry) Thompson. Ken was an engineer and retired from GM and worked at Pontiac Motor Division, Warren Tech Center, and Milford Proving Grounds retiring in 1992 after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Masons and in his retirement he learned to play golf; play guitar; and loved to dance. A big car enthusiasts he rebuilt a 1957 Chevy. Ken loved to travel and in 2020 he fulfilled his bucket list trip – Australia. A true gentleman, he always had a list of projects and things to do. Top of his to do list was working at his daughter Jill's farm in Metamora. He will be forever loved and missed. Funeral service will be Friday, August 2, 2024 at 11 AM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD. Private burial will take place at East Lawn Cemetery, Lake Orion. Family will receive friends Thursday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Ken's memory to his chosen charities, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hope Hospice of Ft. Myers, Florida.
