Kenneth Dale Johnson, 54, passed away on February 8, 2025, after a short illness. He was born on May 25, 1970, in Webb City, Missouri, to Kenneth Johnson, Jr. and Erma (Fikes) Johnson.
Kenny graduated from Neosho High School in 1988. He worked for various companies throughout his career, most notably as a supervisor at Howard Johnson Fertilizer Plant and as a welder at K & S Wire. He was well regarded for his expertise and leadership abilities.
Kenny enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on the lake, as well as playing pool where he formed many lasting friendships.
He married his high school sweetheart, Shelly (Hutchins) Johnson on June 26, 1989. Together they created a loving family that he was proud of. Along with his loving wife, he is survived by his children: Kenny J. Johnson, Travis Johnson (Alex), Cassie Bishop (Scott); grandchildren, Devin Johnson, Adalynn Johnson, Cooper Johnson, Tucker Johnson, Kolton Johnson, Brooke Bishop, Karli Bishop, and Aubree Bishop; sister, Darla House (Vince); his parents and several extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Lawrence and Emma Fikes, Kenneth Robert Johnson Sr and Mary Belle Johnson, and uncle, Ernie Fikes.
The family invites everyone to visitation and graveside services. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary in Joplin and graveside services will be held on Friday, February 14 at 1:00 p.m. at Spring Valley Cemetery near Tipton Ford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direct care of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, MO.
