Kenneth 'Kenny' Mahnke, 84, of Breezy Point, MN
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenny Mahnke, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who left us on June 11, 2024.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 13, 2024, at 11:00am at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes. There will be a time to visit one hour prior to the start of the service at the church. A Celebration of Kenny's life and luncheon will follow the service at Marina II in Breezy Point Resort.
Kenny was born August 3, 1939, in Arlington, MN to Arthur and Marie Mahnke. He joined the navy at the age of 18. When he finished serving his county, he came home and developed a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles. He made many lifelong friends during his motorcycle years as well as meeting his wife, Wanda, when he invited her to go for a ride. During his motorcycle years he went to Sturgis, SD many times with friends and family.
Kenny had multiple hobbies over the years, from hunting and fishing to autobody work. He spent countless hours in the garage repairing, fixing, and painting cars. Kenny was a jack of all trades. Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, you name it, he could fix it.
Most of these hobbies and trade skills he inherited from his brother Art who was by his side during most projects.
Kenny was the life of every party. His infectious laughter and gift for storytelling lit up any room he entered. Whether he was sharing a story or repeating a joke with friends, he had a way of bringing joy and light to those around him.
He worked hard to support his family. He started working an entry level position in the meat industry and worked his way up to top salesman. After a long a career in the meat industry, he retired and moved to Breezy Point and true to nature he made many more great friends.
He is survived by his wife; Wanda, his children; Brett (Jill) Mahnke, Paula (Todd) Breuer, Jason Mahnke, grandchildren; Jenna Mahnke, Andy (Alexa) Breuer, Nikki Breuer, and great grandchild; Peyton Breuer. As well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Kenny is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Marie Mahnke and siblings; Edna Doerr, Art Mahnke, Harvey Mahnke, and Lois Harris.
