Kenneth Wayne LaMay, 83, passed away on June 2, 2025, in the city of Roswell. Please take a moment to share kind thoughts or memories with Kenneth's family at www.andersonbethany.com.
On May 12, 1942, Kenneth Wayne LaMay was born to John and Nettie LaMay in Carrizozo, NM. He graduated from Capitan High School. He married Kathleen Kirkpatrick on August 30, 1962, in Carrizozo, NM. Kenneth lived in Lincoln County most of his life; he and Kathleen moved to Chaves County in 1990, where he lived until his death.
Kenneth was a blade man most of his life. He enjoyed building and welding as a hobby. He dearly loved his family and friends, and spending time with them was a great joy. He might show up unannounced to stay for a day or two or visit for a bit. He especially loved family gatherings and Birthday Celebrations.
Those left to treasure and cherish memories of Kenneth eternally are his wife, Kathleen LaMay; son, Ricky LaMay, and his wife, AnnMarie; daughter, Kennetta LaMay and Brian Wilmeth; grandsons, Garrett LaMay, and Justin Willis and Jody. Sister Evelyn Petree and her husband Malcolm (he was her little boy). Brother and Best Friend Johnny LaMay and Cindy Sanchez. Brother-in-Law Joe Shafer, Sister-in-Law Paula LaMay, and Aunt Anna Mae LaMay. Numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Nettie LaMay; his daughter, Denise LaMay; and his brothers, Dale LaMay and his wife, Maxie, and Jack LaMay, as well as his sister, Glenneth Shafer.
A celebration of life will be held on June 21, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Fletcher Hall Arena, Lincoln County Community Center.
