Kenneth Clifford Lane was born on Monday, May 11, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio to the union of James Porter Lane and Ruth Lane. Affectionately known by the family as "Ken", "Kenny", or "Uncle Kenny". He was the fifth of six children. The Lane family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio where Kenneth was raised. He attended Rawlings Junior High School, then John Hay High School until 1959 when he joined the United States Army Airborne Division. During his time in service, he took up and excelled in boxing. He was honorably discharged in 1962, whereafter he worked on the railroad while employed at Conrail Machine and Rail, Inc. for a short time.
Kenneth was united in matrimony to Gladys Margaret Harrell from1962 to1972. From this union, he and Gladys were blessed with two sons Kenneth Allen Lane and Darrell Clifford Lane. He was a loving father and a respected role model to his sons. In1981, he relocated and joined his sister Mary in Denver, Colorado. He worked unfailingly for the University of Colorado Health Science Center's Maintenance Department where he received accolades for enhancing the department due to his knowledge and abilities. He retired in 2003. In 2016 Kenneth joined his siblings and returned to reside in Columbus, Ohio. Kenneth was an anchor for his family and was known for his forthright speaking, his sense of humor, and his ability to fix anything!
