Kenneth Lang Obituary

Kenneth W. "Ken" Lang, age 95, of Newark, DE, and formerly of Woodstown, NJ, passed peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at home surrounded by family.

Born in Swedesboro, NJ, on June 5, 1930, he was a son of the late William G. and Grace (Moore) Lang. His family had a second generation dairy farm. Farming was not for him so after his high school graduation he immediately signed up for the United States Air Force. Ken proudly served in occupied Japan and the Korean War. After an honorable discharge he had several jobs before landing his career as a senior trademark specialist in the legal department at DuPont Co. and raising a family in Woodstown. He also served as a Master Mason for Woodstown Lodge #138. He relocated to Newark Delaware in 1980.

Upon retirement in 1992, Ken and Marilyn enjoyed extensive traveling including several trips to their favorite spots in Hawaii and Alaska. Ken loved working in the yard and was still mowing the lawn into his 90's. He also had a love for oysters, Martini's and eggs benedict. He was an avid reader but as he got older and reading more difficult, he opted for chocolates, cookies, apple pie and ice cream. And amazingly kept his trim figure!

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brother, Donald A. Lang. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Marilyn W. (Zimbo) Lang; children, Susan Lang-Lasker (Richard), Kathryn M. Lang (John Hiltenbrand), William L. Lang, Kimberly Steenkamer (Michael), and Steven White (Barbara); and grandchildren, Ryan Hacker, Mark Hacker, Sam Hiltenbrand, Heather Piaggione, Adam Steenkamer, Emily Lucas and Alida Roman and great granddaughter Ella.

We want to send a very special thank you to Delaware Hospice of Newark.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE. A graveside service will follow at 2 pm in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.
