Kenneth D. Marlatt Obituary

I was born on a cold winter evening, 14 December 1936, the 5th son to Cliff and Queenie Marlatt. I was raised on a farm south of Odessa, NE and later moved to another farm south and west of Kearney, NE. I attended grade school in a one room schoolhouse. Attended high school at Odessa, NE.

Kenneth Survived by his son Kenney, (Tracy) Marlatt, Daughters Susan Coleman, Kimberly Richards. He is also survived by his 3 brothers and one sister. Brothers Jerry (Edith) Marlatt of Kearney, NE. Raymond (Betty) Marlatt of Kansas City, MO. Doulgas (Kristen) Marlatt of Cottage Grove, MN. His sister Nancy (Willy) Meester of Omaha, NE.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Cliff and Queenie Marlatt, his two brothers Jack Marlatt, and Dr. William Marlatt. Wife Beverly Marlatt. His daughter Carolyn Bronson.

Ken was a legacy life member of VFW post 1375 in Chadron. He Enjoyed living out in the country and loved to carpentry, where he built many buildings on his place. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His first love was duck hunting.

Sometime in life we all decide that the end will come of our mortal lives, and we will pass thru the light and beyond and as I believe reunited with all our loved ones who went before. When were young we seem to fear or dread the thought of death. I do not and decided months ago, I would gladly leave this Earth when God so Deemed. I have lived a good life. Of course, there have been things I wished I could have changed, but we learn by our mistakes and press on with our life.

I am sure you will see my urn setting up front. This may sound morbid to you, but I built this myself and strangely enough, I enjoyed the time I spent building and finishing it. What a better fitting, to know that my final resting place is a house I built with my own hands.

As I have left this Mortal world, it is always hard for the ones you have left behind, but do not morn my death, celebrate my life for I go to a much better place where we all hope to end up in, where we will be again united forever. Do not feel I have left you as I will always be near, guiding you each and every day. Our fondest hope is that we will be remembered and never forgotten. So as you experience this day, Do not be saddened, but rejoice that my days on earth were brightened by you, My Wife and my Children.
