Kenneth Wayne Moorhead, 98 of Midland, passed away on November 21, 2024. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 16, 1926 to the late Kenneth Harold and Myrtle I. (Parker) Moorhead. Ken married the love of his life Constance Ann Rice at the First Methodist Church, in Midland on September 15, 1956 and they shared sixty-eight loving years together.
He was drafted into the US ARMY in 1944 and served as a medic in Germany and France. He was a graduate of Case Institute of Technology and began his career as a chemical engineer at Dow Corning in 1950, retiring in 1982.
He is survived by his wife, Constance, sons, C. Wayne (Anne Schafer), David, Mark and niece, Stephanie Moorhead, sisters-in-law, Jenifer Hare, Virginia Rice, brother-in-law, John H. Rice, and several nieces and nephews and many great nieces and great nephews.
Ken is preceded in death by his brother, Roger K. Moorhead and his two children, daughter in-law, Jeannie Moorhead, brothers in-law, Thomas Rice, Benjamin Rice, sisters in-law, Masako Rice, Veronica Rice, nephew, Troy Hare.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Aldersgate Church with Pastor Michael T. Sawicki officiating. Friends may visit with the family on December 6, 2024 from 3:00pm – 7:00pm at Smith-Miner Funeral Home and from 10:00am until time of service at the church. A private family burial will take place at Homer Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Aldersgate Church or the donor's favorite charity in his honor.
