Kenneth W. "Kenny" Mowen, 66, of Golden, IL, passed away at 8:51 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2025, at his home.
Born June 8, 1959, in Quincy, IL, Kenny was the son of Wayne and Kathleen Grimmer Mowen. He married Diane M. Williams on May 5, 1979, in Columbus, IL. Diane preceded him in death on July 23, 2020.
Kenny owned and operated Kenny Mowen Construction throughout his life until his retirement. As a young man, he enjoyed hunting and always had a passion for catching and frying fish. He especially loved visiting with friends and cherished time spent with his family, most of all his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children: Chuck Mowen (Brandi) and Danielle Turner (Jaben) both of Clayton, IL; his grandchildren, Chloe Turner (Luke) of Camp Point, IL, Jon and Ava Turner of Clayton, and Dylan and Lance Mowen of Clayton, his great-granddaughter, Presley Jennings of Camp Point, his siblings, Gene Mowen (Teresa) of Cairo, MO, Jim Mowen (Judy) of Mendon, IL, Fran Peters (Bruce) of Ursa, IL, Denny Mowen of Clayton, and Nancy Aikman of St. Louis, MO, his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Marv Huber (Cathy) of Quincy, Rocky Broer (Sonya) of Clayton, Dave Ferrill of Mt. Sterling, IL, Jerry Williams of Rock Springs, WY, Kim Humke (David) of Chatham, IL, Tammy Nelson (Gary) of Camp Point, and Tony Williams (Staci) of Coatsburg, IL, his mother-in-law, Linda Williams of Coatsburg, and multiple nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane, his parents, Wayne and Kathleen Mowen, his grandson, Blayne Mowen, three sisters, MaryLou Huber, Patty Broer, and Joanne Welty-Ferrill, his brother, Jerry Mowen, his father-in-law, Joe Williams, and his brother-in-law, Terry Welty.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point with Rev. Sheri Renner officiating. Burial will follow at Wolf Ridge Cemetery, Camp Point.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
