Kenneth Murr Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home - Macon on Oct. 1, 2025.
Kenneth Lee Murr, 86, of Macon, MO passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.
Kenneth was born on August 20, 1938 in Macon, the son of Dewey Leroy and Marie Rhoda (Prunty) Murr. He was united in marriage to Alice Louise Linn on December 28, 1961 at the Immaculate Conception Church.
Kenneth founded Murr Construction Company in 1964, which he successfully operated for two decades. He then dedicated 12 years to working in maintenance at the Macon R-1 School District. He was a member of the Macon Jaycees and the Knights of Columbus, contributing his time and skills to community projects, including designing and building the Santa House in Macon. Above all, Kenneth cherished his role as a father-his daughters were his greatest priority, and he never missed a concert, recital, or band competition.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Alice Murr of the home; two daughters Trudye Confessore of Birmingham, AL and Andrea Henke and her husband Gary of Marshall, MO; grandchildren, Mikaela (Stephen) Meyer, Abigail Henke (Kevin Stroski), Joseph Henke, Nicholas Confessore, and Anthony Confessore; two great-grandchildren, Bennett and Genevieve; one brother, William "Bill" Murr and his wife Karen; in-laws and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Thursday, August 21, 2025 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Macon, MO, with Father Bill Peckman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Macon. Visitation will be 10:00 am, Thursday, until the time of Mass, at the church. The family suggests memorials to the Macon County Food Pantry. Arrangements are under the direction of Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, MO.
