Kenneth "Ken" Bruce Reich passed away peacefully from Parkinson's Disease at the age of 74 on June 28, 2025 surrounded by loved ones in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Ken was born in the Bronx, New York on May 7, 1951 to his parents Rubin and Lillian Reich. Ken was the middle of 3 siblings and spent his early years in uptown New York City honing his love for sports, especially baseball and football, and starting his first steps into the grocery industry both of which turned out to be key pillars of his life. He spent the majority of his life in sunny South Florida living for the good days, always cruising, and wearing his favorite, Tommy Bahama.
His number one love was his family; his Wife Karen of 51 years was his partner by his side in life exploring the world, hosting Sunday family BBQ pool days for friends and family, and watching their kids, Alicia and Daniel, and grandkids, Sloane and Layla grow every day, experiencing new things and hitting new milestones. His kids and grandkids were his true pride and joy of life.
Second to his family was definitely his love of sports - there was never a moment without a game on the TV and a room full of sports memories. Ken passed on his love of his favorite teams: New York Yankees, the University of Miami Hurricanes (he was proud to be a Golden Cane helping kids pursue their college careers), Miami Dolphins and Miami Heat. Ken made many beautiful memories with his family and friends sitting in the stadiums and arenas cheering on his teams - his kids carry on his love of sports and habit of screaming at the TV being the sideline refs.
Ken had a successful career in the grocery industry where he was known for creating standout community programs for his brands as well as being a mentor and friend to all, ensuring he passed on the tools of the trade to the next generation leaving his legacy on the industry that he was so proud to be a part of for 40+ years.
Ken's memory will carry on as he is survived by his wife Karen, sister Meryl, children Alicia and Daniel, daughter-in-law Chelsea, and his grandkids Sloane and Layla, and of course little Edie Bear and Eli who he loved as much as his beloved Peaches, the sweetest pup.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking those to consider a donation to two organizations close to them: Michael J Fox Foundation for the research to help find a cure for Parkinson's Disease and Treasure Coast Hospice which provided the comfort and care the family needed during this difficult time.
