With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Martha "Marty" Tessar, age 74, of Port St. Lucie Florida at Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce Florida on Monday, August18, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Marty was born in Endicott, New York to the late Albert and Edora Cornell on June 5, 1951. Marty was raised in New York and moved to Stuart, Florida with her three children in 1984. She owned and operated both the Robin's Nest and Pelican's Nest Restaurants in Port Salerno, Florida before retiring and working part time at Wal-Mart in St. Lucie West, Florida. Marty met the love of her life Authur Tessar in 2008 and they lived happily together for 14 years in Spanish Lakes in Port St. Lucie Florida before his death.

Marty loved her dogs, playing Bingo, car shows, arts & crafts, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends. She loved having big family holiday dinners. She created beautiful blankets and craft projects for special occasions and gifts for family and friends.

Marty is survived by her treasured three children, Lori Plazarin & Jerry Lopinot, Wendy Templeton & her husband Mark Templeton and Jesse Cooke & wife Bridget Cooke. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and her siblings, Mary Larabee, Shirley Moniz and Howard Cornell. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Arthur Tessar, her parents, and her brother David Cornell.

Marty will be deeply missed and remembered for all the love, laughter and compassion she brought into the lives of all who knew her.

"You never said I'm leaving, you never said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knew why. A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place that no one could ever fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God took you home." Author Unknown.
