During retirement, he took a job at Deals on Wheels as a courier, running paperwork and cars between their two locations. Ken was a lifelong member of the Moose Lodge and spent a lot his time watching his favorite Westerns, MASH, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame sports teams.

Ken was preceded in death by his father, Albert Schultz and mother, Frances (Clarence) Barkman; wife of nearly 53 years, Pauline Schultz; grandson, Nathan Schultz; great-grandson, Tyler Schultz; brother, Robert Schultz; sister, Donna Morsaw; daughter-in-law, Mary Schultz; and his longtime canine companion, Buster.
