Kenneth Ray Slugantz, 82, of Versailles, Kentucky, passed away on October 21, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born on April 25, 1943, to the late John Slugantz and Lora Hamm, Kenneth lived a full life rooted in hard work, faith, and a love of the great outdoors. A proud retiree of Link-Belt, where he worked as a skilled welder, Kenneth found his peace not in the noise of machinery but in the quiet of the water-rod and reel in hand, and his faithful dog, Patch, never far from his side. He attended Clear Creek Baptist Church, where his steady faith and easygoing nature made him a friend to many.
Kenneth is survived by his son, Danny Slugantz of Versailles; sisters, Gladys Southerland and Clara Lewis, both of Versailles; grandchildren, Danielle (Josh) Moore, Laura Slugantz, and Clint (Gabby) Slugantz; and seven great-grandchildren who will carry on his love of laughter, family, and the outdoors. Though he has cast his final line here on Earth, those who knew him take comfort in knowing he's found calm waters and a perfect fishing hole in Heaven.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, following the visitation. Burial will be held at 2:00 pm at Lexington Cemetery.
