Kenneth Wayne Smith, Sr, the son of the late Rev Albert and Leona C. Smith, was born February 6, 1963, in Omaha, Nebraska. Kenneth was the sixth of seven children born to Albert and Leona. He departed this life Thursday, June 19, 2025.

Kenneth's educational journey includes Annalee Elementary School, Curtiss Junior High School, and Carson High School, all in Carson, California. Although he didn't graduate from high school, he did return to receive his GED and went on to obtain his AA, BA and pursued his Graduate degree in Human Services.

During his lifetime, he lived and worked in Alaska in the office as an Administrator, and with the North Slope Borough (NSB) search and rescue team.

Kenneth found the Lord at a young age and serviced in several capacities at Central Baptist Church in Carson, California under the Pastoral leadership of Rev. David Buggs. Kenneth was a musician and played several instruments including the tenor saxophone and the keyboard. Kenneth later moved to Washington State and united with the Church of the Living God where he served as the minister of music, was part of the Men of Integrity Minister, and served in several capacities as requested.

Kenneth leaves behind to mourn, his siblings Leonora A. Smith, Charles A. Smith, James E. Smith, Eugene N. Smith Sr (Christine), Richard D. Smith, and Audrey I. White (Lawrence). He also leaves behind his son Kenneth W. Smith Jr and finance Delesse, his daughter Maia (Eric), his son's Issac and Kenneth the 3rd and daughter Leona and his grandsons Kyree and Roman. His granddaughter London. In addition to a host of nieces and nephews and extended family.

Celebration of life services will be held Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Church of the Living God 1954 S M St, Tacoma, WA 98405. Visitation 12pm-2pm and Celebration of life is at 2pm.
