The memorial service celebrating and honoring the life of Kenneth D. Stone, 91, of Enid will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday March 14, 2025 in the Brown-Cummings Chapel with Pastor Wade Burleson officiating. Graveside to follow at a later date in McKinley Cemetery east of Guthrie. Services and complete cremation care are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A Life Celebration Home.
Kenneth was born to James and Honore Raupe Stone April 6, 1933, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed from this life January 7, 2025, in Enid.
He was raised and educated in Oklahoma City. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1955. He married the love of his life Hazel M. McCorkle January 1956 in Guthrie and just celebrated their 69th Wedding anniversary. The couple made their home in Guthrie before moving to Crescent and then to Enid in 1967. He worked in the oilfield with Bent’s Service Company for more than 20 years and then for several smaller companies, retiring in 1995. He was a hard worker and loved his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor; you knew he liked you if he picked on you. He was and avid outdoorsmen, enjoying hunting, fishing and boating. He also enjoyed model H – O Train sets, traveling, and spending time at the casinos.
He is survived by his wife of the home, sons; Kent and wife Angela of Tecumseh, Micah and wife Jennifer of Enid and Nick, of Enid, grandchildren; Ryan, Kenny, Torrie, Kimberly, Nicole and Shayle; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his infant child, sister, Mildred and brothers, Robert and Ray.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Oklahoma Medical Research fund or to the Emmanuel Enid Church Building Fund.
