Kenneth Edgar Thomas, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 15, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Alamance County on March 18, 1957 to the late Ronald Vernell Thomas, Sr. and Janice Marie Jennings Bailey.
Kenneth visited The Way Church in Whitsett. He was a 1976 graduate of Walter M. Williams High School and retired from Biscuitville after 31 years of service. He was also a self-employed landscaper and skilled gardener. Kenneth enjoyed spending time outdoors and trips to the beach and mountains. Most of all, he cherished time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela Vann and husband Owen; grandchildren, Dylan Dove, Wesley Vann, Eleana Vann Haithcock and husband Lee; great grandson, Oliver Haithcock; brother, Ronald Thomas, Jr. and wife Ana; sister, Annette Weatherly and husband Ken; nieces, Amber Guerra, Kirsten Bryant, Kayla Weatherly and his lifelong friends, Gary Ledford, Sybil Goodson, Pat Goodson and Alan Padgett.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepfather, Elbert Ray Bailey and sisters, Angela Thomas Lynch and Doyce Bailey Baynes.
A heartfelt thanks to his cousin, Burney Jennings and his late uncle, Maurice Jennings for their encouragement and confidence in Kenneth’s workmanship and helping to provide a fulfilling career at Biscuitville that brought him many years of joy.
A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
