It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Kenneth Thaddeus Thompson, age 73, of Florence, who peacefully transitioned on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this time of loss and remembrance.

Mr. Kenneth Thaddeus Thompson, affectionately known as "Chief," was born on April 25, 1952, in Manhattan, New York. He was the son of the late Elliot Thompson and Ophelia Perkins-Thompson. He transitioned peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at MUSC of Florence.

Kenneth attended the Florence County School District and was a proud graduate of Wilson High School, Class of 1970. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing horseshoes and fishing.

He was employed for many years at Young's Pecan Company in Florence, South Carolina. In addition to his civilian career, Kenneth honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
