Kenneth Vessey Jr.

Kenneth R. Vessey Jr. was born in Mineola, NY on March 19, 1966. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 31, 2024 at the age of 58.
He is survived by his wife AnnaMarie, his children Kenny and Gianna, his sister Debbie, his father Ken Sr., his cousins Cindy, Steve, Anthony, Joey, his nieces Elizabeth and Stephanie, the entire McElhone Family, and so many of his wonderful friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Dorothy, his Aunt Carol, Uncle Joe and, his grandparents.
Ken was a Senior Staff Engineer and a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at UL Solutions for over 34 years. Ken was passionate about his job until the day he passed which afforded him the opportunity to travel the globe to meet so many of his friends. He was an industry expert in plastics and 3D printing. Ken was involved with many standards writing committees and technical committees around the world.
Ken volunteered as a UL Safety Advisor with FIRST Robotics and was a mentor with the HHH High School Robotics Team and loved to teach and to guide high school students into the world of engineering. He was extremely handy and loved to work on his pool and pond. Ken was a baseball coach for many years, coaching his son Kenny's baseball teams which they both enjoyed and brought them closer together. He loved the ocean and water activities including scuba diving, sailing, fishing, snorkeling, and boating. He loved spending his vacations on the sandy beaches of Kaua'i with his family.
Ken was a fighter and extremely resilient throughout his treatment. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Ken had so many friends that considered him to be a brother. He is described by his friends as positive personality and always willing to help anyone without hesitation.
We will see you in every rainbow, sunset, and waterfall Ken, until we meet again.
