Minister Kenneth Lane Watkins, Sr., departed this life for his heavenly home on May 15, 2025, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital, Jackson, TN. He was born to the late Robert Thomas Watkins and Nelda Francis Watkins on July 26, 1960, in Gibson County, TN.
Kenneth attended school in the Gibson County School District and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1979. Afterwards, served three years in the United States Army. Kenneth worked at the Gibson County Correctional Complex in Trenton, TN as a jailor; was employed with the Trenton Police Department; and later at Jones
Manufacturing Company in Humboldt, TN. In 1996,
Kenneth accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and in 2001 he was ordained as a minister.
He leaves to his memories, his wife of 39 years, Loretta Ann Watkins; four children: Curtis Dwight Oliver of
Eugene, OR, Marquita Jenee´ Watkins Sangster of Milan, TN, Kenneth Lane Watkins, II of Gibson County, TN, and Brian Christopher Watkins of Jackson, TN; four grandchildren: Kendra Alexandia Watkins of Jackson, TN,
Alandria Jenee´ Sangster of Milan, TN, Braylon Marquez Love of Milan, TN, and Brooklyn Annalise Taylor of Milan, TN; one great-grandchild, Harmonii Iris Samuel; two brothers: James (Sophia) Watkins of Jackson, TN and Jackie Watkins of Brownsville, TN; three sisters: Sharon Hammond of Jackson, TN, Deborah (Thomas) Swift of Trenton, TN, and Katrina Watkins of Lavergne, TN; one incredibly special friend/brother Rev. Gregory M.
Hammond; a host uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, great nephews/nieces, and cousins.
Kenneth was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lynn Watkins; and an infant sister, Vironica Diane Watkins.
