Kenneth Wayne Weathers, 65, of Spartanburg, passed away unexpectedly on August 7, 2025. A devoted husband, proud dad, and adoring grandfather, he built his life around the people he loved and the community he served. Wayne owned and operated Premier Sports Lighting, LLC.
Wayne’s kindness and love for others never allowed him to meet a stranger. He spent his life working to provide for those he loved, while being the perfect example of strength and dedication to anyone lucky enough to have known him.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Crystal, whom he loved more than anything. He was the proud father of David and Andrew, and he welcomed their wives, Lesley and Lindsay, as daughters of his heart. His greatest joy was being “Poppy” to Sa’Myah, Weston, Camden, Ryleigh, Denver, Sloan, and Kensington (Lulu), each of whom he adored.
Wayne is also survived by a brother, Eddie Weathers (Katherine Weathers); a sister, Avis Anderson (Dean Anderson), and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chris and Ann Cabaniss. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Weathers, his mother, Jean Weathers, a brother, Loy Glass, and sisters-in-law, Kathi Glass and Shari Weathers.
He will be missed beyond measure and remembered forever for his love of family and friends, and his generous spirit.
In his famous words, “I love you, more than you love me…gotcha”.
A celebration of his life will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
