Obituary of Kenneth R. Weiner
Kenneth R. Weiner
Kenneth R. Weiner, age 67, passed away in Lexington, KY, on March 11, 2025. He was born in Chicago, IL, on June 13, 1957, the son of the late Kenneth and Rita (Luckey) Weiner. He was a graduate of Prosser High School. Ken spent 36 years as a butcher for Butera Market. After retirement, he enjoyed his time listening to music from the 60s and 70s while perfecting his woodworking talents and watching old movies, preferably Westerns and anything scary. He could also be found outside ghost hunting or simply looking up at the sky stargazing. Ken was also proud of his coin and baseball card collections. Although he grew up on the Southside of Chicago, he was a diehard Cubs fan!
Ken's love for his family was evident by all who knew him. His grandkids were his pride and joy; he cherished the time he spent with them. There will be void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Patricia (nee Thorne) Weiner; sons, Edward Munoz, Christopher (fiancée Allysen Martinez) Weiner, and Daniel Weiner; daughter, Nancy (fiancé Austin Salmon) Weiner; his grandchildren, Oliver, Kaylie, and Scarlett; sister, Barbara Hensel; brothers-in-law, Lenny (Diane) Thorne, David (Liz) Thorne, and Bobby (the late Brenda) Thorne; and his sister-in-law, Eileen Williams.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Gerry.
Visitation for Kenneth R. Weiner will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m. The family would like to invite everyone who attends to wear Chicago Cubs or Chicago Bears attire.
