Ken was born in Norfolk, Virginia on March 2, 1945, and soon relocated to Cheyenne, Wyoming where he was raised by his grandparents Lamour and Lillian Willis. He served in the Navy and returned to Denver to obtain his high school diploma from Emily Griffith Opportunity School. He received a degree in mathematics from the University of Colorado and went to the University of Denver to receive a law degree. He also received a Master of Taxation from the University of Denver. He practiced law for a substantial period of time at the law firm of Roath & Brega and as a solo practitioner specializing in tax, oil and gas and litigation. During this time Ken sat on the Board of the Dumb Friends League of Denver. Ken met his wife Mary, who survives him, at the YMCA. They have been married for 45 years. Ken loved to tour on his Harley Davidson and Ducati motorcycles. He also loved to work out and run. For many years Ken taught gun safety courses. Ken and Mary loved Wyoming and for many years had a residence in Jackson, Wyoming and then a ranch in Centennial, Wyoming . Ken died from complications of Alzheimer's on January 24, 2026 in Denver.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for March. Donations may be made in Ken's memory to The Alzheimer's Association. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
