Rochester, NY- Kenneth Edward Wishard Jr. passed away surrounded by family on March 6, 2026 at the age of 79. He was a long term resident of Springwater NY.
The son of Kenneth Edward Wishard and Marie Toms Wishard of Waynesboro Pennsylvania. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Wishard of Rochester NY, his son, Jason Wishard and his wife Jennifer of Hamlin NY, his grandson Matthew Wishard of Webster NY, his brother Douglas Wishard and his wife Carol of Spartanburg SC, his sister Beverly Campbell of Lititz PA, and niece, Kim Hogan of Lancaster PA.
Ken attended Waynesboro High School before going to Penn State, Mont Alto campus and then transferring to Tri-State University in Angola, Indiana. He graduated with his degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Ken went to work for Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester NY, directly out of college. After taking the early retirement package, Ken continued to work, getting his CDL license and driving tractor trailers for a few years. He then went on to work as a bus driver for the Dansville school district.
Ken enjoyed spending time outdoors, taking walks, going for bike rides, hunting, camping, and going for rides on his motorcycle. He was a very skilled mechanic, carpenter, plumber, electrician and could fix just about anything. He was always around to answer any questions and to help with a project. Ken enjoyed watching Sunday football, Penn State games, and NASCAR. He also enjoyed listening to music and talk radio.
A small burial service with family will be planned for a later date at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Waynesboro PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to NYS Conservation through the Natural Heritage Trust.
