Kenneth L. Wonsowski, age 72, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Corewell Health Taylor Hospital.
Kenneth was born September 20, 1951 in Detroit, MI, he was the son of Leonard and Joann (Conti) Wonsowski. Ken married Elizabeth R. "Beth" Conner on November 27, 1971 in Milan, Michigan.
Ken was a graduate of Cabrini High School in Allen Park, earned an associate degree from Washtenaw County Community College and a member of St. Mary Church.
Ken was an adjuster then claims manager for AAA Michigan, from 1974 until his retirement in 2011.
Ken enjoyed woodworking, being on the computer, coaching little league baseball teams for his sons, and traveling with his wife where they had gone to Europe, Hawaii and Alaska. Ken also was a part of Trench Coat Theater, an interactive theater group that hosted murder mystery dinners. Ken loved spending time with family and friends.
Ken is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beth; two sons, Jason (Carol) Wonsowski of Canton Twp, MI and James "Jimbo" Wonsowski of Monroe; two siblings, Richard Wonsowski of Taylor and Karen (Gary) Hewlett; three grandchildren, Sarah, Joseph and Kaitlyn.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Road, Monroe, MI 48161, where a sharing of memories will begin at 6:30 p.m. He will then lie instate at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 29th at St. Mary Catholic Church 127 N. Monroe Street, Monroe, MI 48162 with Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. Rev. David Burgard, pastor of the Church, will officiate with Deacon Michael Stewart as the homilist. Private interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe at a later date.
Memorial contributions in Ken's honor are suggested to Spirit of Giving to help purchase beds for those in need.
