Virginia Beach - Kent Everett Kelley, born on January 9, 1962, in Norfolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 63.
A proud graduate of Frank W. Cox High School, class of 1980, Kent went on to dedicate over 35 years of his life to serving as a driver for the Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD). His commitment to his work was exemplary, and his colleagues will remember him fondly for his unwavering dedication and friendly spirit.
Kent was a man of many passions, with a particular love for animals, especially cats. His affection for music was equally profound; he was a remarkable musician who could play any instrument with ease. His collection of guitars was a testament to his lifelong devotion to music, and his home was often filled with the joyful sounds of his playing.
Preceded in death by his beloved parents, James William and Imogene Lelia (Bannister) Kelley, Kent's memory will be cherished by his surviving family: his brother Roger Kelley and sister-in-law Laura; his niece Jennifer Kelley; and his nephews Joshua and Reagan Kelley.
At this time, no services are planned in remembrance of Kent. Coastal Cremations is assisting his family during this difficult time. Friends and family are invited to share memories and express condolences at CoastalCremationsVA.com.
Though Kent's presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Kent, please visit our Tree Store.
