Kent “Russell Gipson” died at his home in Pilot Point on Sunday, October 12th, 2025 after suffering an extended illness for the past few years. Russell was born January 11th, 1974 in Abilene, Texas.  He attended school in Pilot Point, Texas

He is survived by two sons, J.R. Gipson of Denton and Ryan Gipson and his wife Karissa of Krum; and two grandchildren.  He is also survived by mother Judy Akins of Gainesville; father Richard Kerry Gipson and wife Ofelia of Ennis; sister Stacey Dvoracek and her husband Dennis of Corinth; three step-siblings; and many other family and friends

Russell was a Christian, accepting the Lord Jesus as a young boy and being baptized at First Baptist Church in Pilot Point, Texas.  He loved fishing, hunting, and being outdoors.

He worked in construction in his adult life doing painting and finishes, and most recently fabricating and setting cabinets for a local cabinet shop.

He was much loved and will be missed.

A memorial service will be held at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating at 11:00 AM Saturda,y October 18, 2025.  A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, the hour prior.
