Kenyon Lynn Shaffer

Kenyon "Buck" Lynn Shaffer, 72, of Oakland, MD, passed away on February 10, 2025, peacefully at his home. Born on October 20, 1952, in Somerset, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Florence (Barnes) Shaffer.

Ken graduated from Somerset Senior High School. He was a bridge builder and worked for Van Winters Construction. He was a resident of Oakland for over 30 years. He loved working on his Ford trucks, gardening in the backyard, landscaping, camping and mountain biking with his wife. His loves were his wife and his dogs Pap, Heidi, and Whispers. He will be missed greatly by his brothers and sisters, and will always be remembered for his hard work ethic and determination no matter what his condition was.

He is survived by his siblings, Perry Shaffer of Havre de Grace, MD, Loraine Stubblefield and husband Jack of Cookeville, TN, Robin Ream and husband Dennis of Stoystown, PA, and Oliver Shaffer and wife Wanda of Somersest, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sophia (McDonald) Shaffer; his siblings, Ronald Shaffer and wife Carol, and Deborah Shaffer; and sister-in-law, Alla Shaffer.

Ken's request for cremation was honored. There are no services scheduled at this time.
