Funeral services for Keondre Jocob, beginning at 11:00 am will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Starlight Baptist Church in Marksville.
Visitation will begin from 8:00 am to time of service on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Starlight Baptist Church in Marksville.
Burial will follow at Starlight Baptist Cemetery.

Keondre Malik Latrell Jacob was born to Kristen Jacob and Deddrick Simmon on June 6, 2000, in Alexandria, LA. He departed this earthly life on October 6, 2024, at Bunkie General Hospital in Bunkie, La. Keondre was baptized at the Starlight Baptist Church by Rev. Van K. Jones, Sr.
Keondre attended Avoyelles High School but completed his high school education at Marksville High School. His exceptional athleticism and talents were often displayed on the basketball courts at school and in the community. While employed at Walmart #1128, he was known for being a respectful and humble young man with an infectious personality. To many he will be remembered for his charming smile and affectionate hugs, as this is how he greeted friends and loved ones.
Those left to cherish Keondre's memory include his mother, Kristen Jacob; father, Deddrick Simmons (Sheniqua); bonus father, Jason Sampson; a devoted girlfriend, Breyina Lachney; sisters, Drameika Sampson, Destiny Batiste, O'Shala Washington, Norkeisha Watson, and Jashonna Watson; brothers, Devon Batiste, Jason Sampson, Jr, Michael Batiste, Kitravious Francisco, Jeremiah Simmons, and Zion Simmons; maternal grandparents, Ernestine Friels (David) and James Jacob (Andrea); paternal grandparents, Arthur and Debra Simmons, along with a host of relatives, friends, and loved ones.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted with Escude Funeral Home of Mansura.
