Beverly Ann Eloby Freeman was born on October 14, 1952, and entered into Glory on Saturday, June 22, 2024. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Edward Eloby, of Coahoma, Mississippi.
In Coahoma, Beverly honed her culinary, gardening, sewing, and quilting skills. She was a home-ec teacher before she had a home-ec degree. She graduated from Alcorn State University, where she met her husband, Earnest Lee Freeman. Soon after, she became an Air Force Wife and worked in a credit union while they were stationed at England Air Base in Alexandria, Louisiana. The decision to work instead of re-enlisting led them to Marksville, Louisiana, where she was a long-term resident. When she moved to Marksville, there were no available home economics positions, so she returned to school to get certified in Secondary Special Education. She taught at a few schools in Avoyelles Parish but spent most of her career at Marksville High School, retiring in 2011.
She was highly active at St. John Community Church-Baptist, where she served in numerous roles, including Church Deaconess, Sunday School teacher, and choir member. She also helped organize the church library, including creating themed bulletin boards focused on history, health, and education.
She leaves many to cherish her memory: their three children, Quinton Andre (Adrienne) of Houston, Texas, Jerald Anthony (Jessica) of Destrehan, Louisiana, and Earniece Levette Freeman of Alexandria, Louisiana; her mother Claudia Eloby; her two grandchildren, Sarah Jalecia and Jerald Anthony Freeman; five sisters, one brother, cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
A service celebrating her life and legacy will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at St. John Community Church-Baptist, 531 St. John St., Marksville, LA 71351. Public viewing and visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the start of service at 11:00 a.m. Mrs. Freeman will be laid to rest in the St. John Community Cemetery immediately following the service.
Please keep the family in your prayers.

May you find strength in knowing that the God of all comfort and love is with you, and He will strengthen you as you go through this process of grief. Love you always.

From St. Louis, Missouri Family Reunion Chapter. The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid. Psalm 27:1 Beverly, Wanda and I were classmates in grade school at Hull elementary. We were called the (3) musketeers, because we were always together. We loved school and especial Home economics, classes where Beverly would get to create many ideas, cook, and sew. We also played the same position in basketball. We switched in and out for each other. She was meek, humble and soft spoken. She was quiet reserved and well respected by all who met her and knew her. She has finished her race and gone to be with the Lord. Never forgotten, forever in our hearts Johnnie Mae Brown-Thurman, Elmira Irvin-Johnson, Fannie Edwards, Dr. Nelver Brooks, Levi Irvin, MarkMeeks
