Malcolm Branch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Miller & Hill The Funeral Directors - Alexandria on Sep. 11, 2025.
With a twinkle in his eye and a heart full of laughter, Malcolm Lee Branch embarked on his heavenly journey on August 3, 2025. Known for his magnetic charisma and quick wit, Malcolm had the unique ability to make everyone around him feel special and loved. Born, September 12, 1974, and raised in Alexandria, LA. He was surrounded by family, faith, and community. Malcolm later moved to Las Vegas, NV, carrying with him the warm spirit of his hometown.

He was baptized at a young age by Rev. William Dearborne at Starlight Baptist Church and later joined St. Lawrence Baptist Church. Finally, he joined the Timothy Baptist Church, living out his faith in service to others.

Malcolm was a proud member of the Peabody Magnet High Marching Band during his high school years, and his love for music continued throughout his life. He went on the graduate from Alexandria Senior High in 1992. Malcolm was smart and courageous, displaying his courage through his dedicated military service in the National Guard. His intelligence shone through in every conversation, his insights often leaving those around him amazed and enlightened. However, Malcolm's true joy came from serving others and making people smile - a hobby that was more of a calling for him. He spent many years in the food service industry, where his kindness and work ethic touched and inspired many lives.

Malcolm was preceded in death by his father, Edward Branch; his sister, Katrina Miles; and his grandparents, Mitchell and Mary Branch, Eli and Mary Price, Sr. He is survived and will be fondly remembered by his loving family – his mother, Earline Branch; his brothers, Vincent (Twanna) Branch of Houston, TX, Mitchell (Dorothy) Branch, and Lamont (Yolanda) Dixon of Houston, TX; and his sisters, Gwendolyn (Clifton) James, Shirley (Reginald) Alexander, Denise (Jimmy) Washington, Earlisha Branch and a host of relatives and friends.

As we remember Malcolm and celebrate his life, we are reminded of the verse from the Gospel of Matthew, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16). Indeed, Malcolm's light shone brightly, illuminating the lives of all those he encountered.
