Kerra Kay Cress, 11, of Cumberland, Kentucky, passed away August 22, 2023, at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.
She was born April 2, 2012, in Harlan, Kentucky and was a daughter to Anthony Cress and Amanda Eldridge of Cumberland.
Due to Kerra's medical condition, she was unable to attend school and received her learning from the homeschooled program.
Kerra was a 5th grader that loved watching cartoons, stuffed animals, playing with her sister, and spending time with her puppy, "Flutter Shy," who was named by her sister, after one of her favorite toys, "My Little Pony." She was a true gift from God and a bright beaming light in the lives of all that knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Robert Eugene Eldridge, uncle, Brandon Cress, cousins, Patrick and Christopher Cress.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, other than her parents, paternal grandparents, Verlin and Connie Cress, maternal grandmother, Betty Eldridge, sister, Arianna Cress, uncle, Henry (Erica) Eldridge, aunts, Melissia (Chris) Steele, Pamela (Jeff) Thompson, Jennifer Meade, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, August 25th, 2023, at 12 noon at Cumberland Valley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Brother Glenn Cornett officiating.
Burial will follow in the Fouts Family Cemetery in Cumberland, Kentucky.
The Family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. Thank you in advance and every amount is greatly appreciated. Continue to lift the family up in prayers.
