Kerry Alcos, 55, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, at Life's Journey Hospice after losing her second battle with brain cancer.
Kerry was born on September 20, 1969, to Steven and Karen Harbaugh Hopkins in Brazil, Indiana. After her 1987 graduation from Northview High School, Kerry attended Indiana University Bloomington where she received her degree in Nursing.
She moved to Plainfield and started work as an RN at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis, where she eventually met her husband and life partner Francis Alcos. Kerry and Francis married on May 23, 2001, and then moved to Avon, Indiana. They enjoyed nearly 24 years together.
Kerry will be remembered as a very loving, selfless and generous wife, daughter, sister, and friend. As a nurse, she always placed the needs of her patients first. Her infectious smile lit up the room and her laugh would ease your heart. She had a very strong-willed personality and lived life with no fear. God gave her a miracle of prolonged life after being diagnosed with incurable cancer in January 2007.
Kerry is survived by her husband, mother, sisters Julie (Don) Sharton and Leslie (David) McKinney, nephew Steven (Kristen) Allen, nieces Morgan (Clayton) Miller, Megan and Emily Sharton, and great nephews River Miller and Wilson Allen. She was preceded in death by her father and great nephew Jameson Allen.
