Kerry Wright, fondly remembered by many as "The Gentle Giant," was born on January 9, 1959, in Fort Pierce, Florida, to the late Estes and Doris Hudson Wright. On September 6, 2025, Kerry peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humility, and love.

Kerry was educated in the public schools of St. Lucie County and proudly graduated with the Fort Pierce Central High School Class of 1977. After graduation, he began his career at Fort Pierce Mental Health, where he worked diligently for many years, serving his community with compassion.

As a young man, Kerry found faith and spiritual guidance at Learn of Me Church of God by Faith under the leadership of Elder John Robinson. His faith remained a quiet but steady presence throughout his life.

Later, Kerry relocated to Dallas, Texas, where he embarked on a long career as a Greyhound bus driver. Known for his calm spirit and steady hand, he safely carried countless passengers across the miles. After retiring from Greyhound, he settled in Jonesboro, Georgia, where he continued his love for driving as a bus driver for the Henry County School System. Kerry especially enjoyed taking students on outings and to their games, always bringing joy to those he transported. His warm smile and gentle demeanor left a lasting impression on both students and colleagues alike.

Kerry loved his family deeply, cherishing time spent together and always offering his quiet strength, gentle humor, and unwavering support. He will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to service, and the love he freely gave.

Kerry was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Estes Wright, Jr.; his sister, Sandral Demeris Wrigh Chambers; his brothers, Estes Wright III and Rev. Dr. Bruce D. Wright, Sr.

Kerry leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted mother, Doris Hudson Wright of Jonesboro, GA; sister-in-law, Rosa L. Wright of Stockbridge, GA; brother-in-law, James Earl Chamber, Sr. of Rex, GA; nieces, Charnetta and Doris Washington; nephews, Estes Washington, Sr., NeGuerian Wright, Bruce Wright, Jr., and Marcus Wright, uncles, Clarence Wright (Gladys), A. Ronald Hudson (Jackie) and Harry Hudson; aunt, Emma Lee Hudson; goddaughter, Brooke McCubbin; godsister, Octavia Clark-Little; godbrother, George Wright; along with a host of extended family, friends, colleagues, and all who were blessed to know him.

Though his earthly journey has ended, the impact of Kerry's life will live on in the hearts of many. His legacy as a faithful son, devoted brother, beloved family member, and friend will never be forgotten.
