MORTON – Kerwin E. Lanz, 96 of Morton, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.

He was born on July 30, 1928, in Ellington, Connecticut, to Albert and Rose (Marti) Lanz.

Surviving are two sisters, Harriet (Herb) Clarke of Ellington, Connecticut and Velda (George) Foxe of Carol Stream, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

After graduating from Rockville High School in Rockville, Connecticut. Kerwin worked as a federal agriculture inspector in Connecticut until he moved to Morton in 1960. Kerwin worked several jobs with his family, Anna May and John Getz (Convention Reference Book and B-Line Food Shoppe as manager) and retired from Morton Buildings after many years traveling the country as their safety inspector. In retirement, Kerwin enjoyed traveling and hiking Colorado with his siblings and their spouses.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Morton Apostolic Christian Restmor for their loving care.

A private family service and burial will be held at Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery in Morton.

In memory of Kerwin, memorials may be made to Morton Apostolic Christian Restmor, 1500 Parkside Avenue, Morton, IL 61550.

Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
