Kerwin Lee "Pecos" McFarland was born on February 21, 1957 in Fresno, California to Joseph Burtis and Frances Mae McFarland. Pecos and his parents moved to Lawton, Oklahoma when he was still young. He grew up with many brothers and sisters including Pat, Bonnie, Mary, Eva, Betty, Sissy, Barbara, Beverly, Dale, Robert, JB, Morris, Bubba, and Michael. He was hell on wheels in his youth and originally, he was nicknamed Pecos Bill by his grandpa, Lee Carson. Later in life it was shortened to Pecos. In his early years, Pecos worked various construction jobs such as roofing, remodeling, doing heavy construction on Fort Sill, building houses in Oklahoma City, and moving mobile homes. For the last occupation, he drove a taxicab in Lawton for primarily Triple AAA Cab Company. He and Sandy were married in March of 1986 and their children consisted of Alan, Kevin, Galvin, Lance, Willie, Lynn, Junior, and a bonus child, Trenna. Pecos and Sandy were blessed with many grandchildren, Cash, Shaylee, Cameron, Samantha, Kimberly, Michael, Jaylon, Trigger, Lulu, Sterling, Lorinda, Sandra Lynn, Abby, Curtis, KenLee, Kelan, Kase, Racyn, Kutter, Kroux, Kove, Christian, Kevin, and Brook. They had one great grandchild, Colt, and one on the way; along with many nieces and nephews that they love as much as their own children.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings; his son; his grandchild; and aunts and uncles, all that he loved dearly.

Pecos was as stubborn as a mule but also had the biggest heart. He will be dearly missed not only by his family but also by a lifetime of friends. Rest in peace to our father, husband, brother, grandpa, and friend.
