Murry "Craig" Baugh, 74, of Lawton was peacefully sent to his eternal home on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
Craig, as he was affectionally known, was born on September 17, 1951 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Murry Gilbert and Lois Marie (Bain) Baugh. He was raised in Chattanooga as an only child, but never felt so, as he was always surrounded by a host of cousins, aunts and uncles, and dear friends who created a fulfilling and memorable childhood. Craig graduated from Chattanooga High School and then went on to obtain a Bachelor's degree from Cameron University. He met his first love, Janie Huggins, while driving the drag around Waynes Drive Inn in Lawton. Craig and Janie married on August 9, 1974 at Chattanooga Baptist Church. They resided in Chattanooga where Craig was a teacher and coach. They later moved to Lawton where Craig began a career with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company that spanned for 31 years. They had two children and were married for 27 years before Janie passed away in 2001. Craig was known for his love of the outdoors, baseball, basketball, Dallas Cowboys football, fishing with his father and children, being a handyman in all things, sense of humor, and his infectious love of life and family. He instilled in his children a hard work ethic, the value of family, and a "never give up" mentality.
Craig later married his second love, Maria Elena Roman Pina, on April 25, 2009 on the #1 tee box at Fort Sill Golf Course, as they shared the love for the sport for many years. Together, they enjoyed traveling to Mexico, golfing with friends, and the beauty of the outdoors. Craig was truly grateful for the love they shared for 16 years.
He is survived by his wife, Maria, of the home; his daughter and son in law, Lindsay and Landon Hunt, of Loveland, Oklahoma; his son Blake Baugh, of Tulsa; his step daughter and son in law, Tania and Alberto Alfonso, of Akron, Ohio; his step son and daughter in law, Miguel and Tania Meza, of Mexico; his grandchildren, Hadlee, Hudson, and Hayes Hunt, his step grandchildren, Marcia Alfonso, Olivia Alfonso, and Miguel Meza; his beloved dog, Lucky Lucy; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
A celebration of life service for Craig will be held at the Chattanooga Civic Center on Saturday, October 18 at 11:00 am with Rev. Mike Teal of Cameron Baptist Church officiating.
Please bring your favorite memory to share and after the service a catered lunch will be served.
Although Craig's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and steadfastness in all that we do.
