It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kevin O'Brien Bent, born on September 12, 1973, in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. Kevin departed this world on June 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication.
Kevin spent his life making a difference in the healthcare industry as a devoted Lab Technician and Respiratory Therapist, where his commitment to improving the lives of others was evident in the care he provided. His warm smile and generous spirit touched the hearts of many in the Detroit community, where he resided.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Euliet Smith, and his father, John Bent, who cherished him deeply as well as his by his beloved sons Matthew and Joshua Bent. Kevin's presence will be sorely missed by his family and friends, who remember him for his kindness, laughter, and unwavering support.
To honor Kevin's life and contributions, a Public Viewing will be held at James H. Cole Home for Funerals - Northwest Chapel on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 3:00pm - 9:00pm. Following this, a Family Hour will take place at the same location at 12:30 PM on Friday August 1at, just prior to the Funeral Service which will begin at 1:00pm. Those who knew and loved Kevin are invited to join us in celebrating his extraordinary life and the lasting impact he made in the hearts of all who knew him.
Kevin will be laid to rest in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.
In this time of sorrow, we find comfort in the cherished memories of Kevin and the love he shared with us all. May he rest in peace.
