Kevin Bryar Obituary

Kevin James Bryar
1979 - 2024
New Haven
Kevin J. Bryar 1979-2024 New Haven - Kevin James Bryar, 45, died suddenly on June 25, 2024, in New Haven, CT. He was born in Schenectady, NY on February 28, 1979, to the late Phyllis H. Bryar.
Kevin grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He had an incredible zest for life and infectious energy that attracted an ever-growing community of loved ones into his life. He loved good food and wine, making his life's work serving in fine dining establishments in Springfield, MA, New York, NY, Boston, MA, Cape Cod, MA, Providence, RI, Key West, FL and New Haven, CT. He enjoyed many years as a "snowbird" splitting his time between Key West and the Northeast. Kevin also developed impressive skills as a boat detailer in New Haven, CT, spending the last few years lovingly repairing and enjoying time boating on the Long Island Sound. Forever the free spirit, he was not afraid to live his life on his terms, always finding his place and his people in each new home he created.
Kevin will be incredibly missed by those who loved him including his siblings, Glen R. Bryar, Jr. and his wife Nicole of Reno, NV, Renee F. Bryar of Hartford, CT, Stacy J. Bousquet of Reno, NV, Sean J. Bryar and his wife Colleen of Castleton, NY, and Erin A. Bamgbala and her husband Jubril of North Providence, RI. Kevin was a beloved Uncle to his nieces and nephews including JJ, Laila, Noah, Haven, Hailey, Stefanie, Devyn, Randy, Joseph, Dylan, and Cheyenne. Kevin also leaves his dear cousins Amy Harrigan and Brian Harrigan, as well as countless friends whom he cherished dearly. Kevin was predeceased by his mother, Phyllis Harrigan Bryar.
A celebration of Kevin's life will be held at a future date, all who love him will be welcome to join.

I unfortunately did not know Kevin but I did know both his mom and uncle very well. I am sure Kevin followed their tradition of kindness and caring. God rest his soul.

Our whole family was saddened to hear of Kevin´s passing at such a young age. He was extended family as one of Joe´s friends from grammar & high school days & joined us several times on family vacations in Vermont amid laughter & happy memories. His Mom, Phyllis & I worked together helping Erin perch safely as a Christmas angel in our annual pageant. So many wonderful times! Kevin surely packed more living in his young life than some souls do in twice as many years; we will miss him. As the old Irish blessing goes-May God hold him in the palm of His hand forever.
