Kevin Craig Canik

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Kevin Craig Canik, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this life on December 8, 2025, at the age of 68.

His warmth and humor will be profoundly missed by his beloved daughters, Niki (Brian) Breaux and Lyndsay (Steven) Canik. He took immense joy in the lives of his grandchildren, Ali Kate Lott, Carson Lott, Payton Cormier, and Christian Beasley, who brought light to his days. He is also survived by his sister, Connie (Mike) Navarre, who shared many fond memories with him. He also leaves behind his four legged friend, Jackson.

Kevin was born on July 12, 1957, in Jennings, Louisiana. An avid livestock show enthusiast, Kavin's heart was as big as his passions. He often found joy in gathering with family and friends, whether it was cheering for LSU from his outdoor shed or enjoying peaceful moments by the river with his river buddies later in life. His love for those around him was boundless, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He worked many years in the HVAC industry where he made many friends and memories serving the community.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the public viewing, which will be held at Miguez Funeral Home on Wednesday December 10, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume the following morning at 8:00 AM. A funeral service celebrating Kevin's life will take place on Thursday December 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Miguez Funeral Home.

He will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

In this challenging time, we find comfort in the memories we hold dear and the love that he shared during his life. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, John Canik and Anazia Canik; a brother, Michael Canik; his first wife, Jackie Canik; and his life partner, Cheryl Bergeaux.
