With profound sadness and deep love, we share the passing of Kevin J. DeLory, who left this world on April 8, 2025, at the age of 53, after a nearly two-year battle with cancer-a battle he fought with extraordinary courage, dignity, and grace.
Kevin was a man who embodied respect, honor, and love in everything he did. He was the beloved son of Raymond DeLory and Lorraine Thorpe; the devoted brother of the late Stephen DeLory, the late Raymond DeLory Jr., David DeLory (Heather), and Jeanine Wolf (Michael); the cherished husband of Dana DeLory; and the deeply devoted father to his greatest joy, Brooklyn DeLory.
Kevin's life was defined not by the illness that ultimately took him, but by the way he lived-with full-hearted generosity, unwavering loyalty, and quiet strength. He was a man of principle, guided by values that never wavered: respect for others, honor in his actions, and love that was both fierce and tender.
To know Kevin was to witness a rare kind of integrity. He led with calm wisdom, served others with compassion, and gave without expectation. His presence alone could put people at ease-steady, thoughtful, and sincere. Whether it was in his work, in a conversation, or just in the way he carried himself, Kevin left people better than he found them.
But perhaps nowhere was Kevin's heart more evident than in his role as a father. Brooklyn was his whole world. Their daddy-daughter dates-often weekly-were sacred time, full of laughter, Target runs, and moments that will live forever in her heart. He showed her the kind of love that teaches, protects, and uplifts. The legacy he leaves in her is perhaps his greatest and most enduring gift.
Kevin also shared a deep, unshakable bond with his wife, Dana. Their love was the kind that weathered storms, grew through seasons, and stood strong through every twist of life. She was his constant- his partner, and his unwavering source of strength who restored his faith in God specifically during this battle more than ever.
Throughout his life, Kevin was blessed with friendships that ran deep. His three best friends-Kenny Phillips, Brad Ayers (Jess), and Billy Kitsilis (Alicia)-were more like brothers. They stood by his side through every high and low, a living testament to the kind of loyalty Kevin gave and inspired in return.
Though Kevin's physical presence is no longer with us, the impact he had will ripple on-through the stories we tell, the values he instilled, and the deep mark he left on every life he touched. He truly was the best of the best.
The DeLory family is planning a private memorial to honor the remarkable life Kevin lived. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support cancer research or to the Great Dane rescue shelter-two causes close to Kevin's heart. May we carry forward his legacy by living a little more kindly, loving a little more deeply, and holding fast to what truly matters.
