Kevin John Dettwyler

Kevin John Dettwyler, 43, peacefully passed from this life to be with his Lord on April 25, 2023. He was born December 30, 1979, to Loren and Marlene (Kaeb) Dettwyler in Silverton, Oregon. He attended Central Howell school, Silverton High School then Oregon State University graduating with a degree in construction engineering management. After graduating, he worked at Kerr Contractors, then K&E Excavating for the last 12 years. Kevin gave his heart to the Lord when he was 18 and became a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. Kevin married Jill Dietrich on December 1, 2002, and to their union, they were blessed with eight children, Heidi, Caleb, Nathan, Meredith, Matthew, Leanna, Heather, and Laurel. Kevin loved spending time outdoors and enjoying the beauty of God's creation, often hiking with his family. He enjoyed reading and history, singing and music. He cared deeply for those around him and often shared nuggets from God's truths as he visited with them. He was diagnosed with melanoma cancer in July 2019.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years and their eight children. Parents, Loren and Marlene Dettwyler, Sisters: Jackie, Jodie, Karla (Dinold) Gabriel (Wadsworth, OH), Tresa (Josh) Hansen, Betsy (David) Virkler (Wadsworth, OH), Beth and brother Travis (Tammy).
