Kevin Neal Kooken, 65, left this earthly life on March 18th, 2025. He was born on June 15th, 1959, in Oklahoma City, to Mark and Jody Kooken. The youngest of 5 children, he was affectionately referred to as “baby brother”. Kevin graduated from Putnam City High School in 1978 before embarking on a 40-year career as a purchasing executive in the commercial roofing business. Kevin began his career journey in the early 80s working for his father’s company, Standard Roofing and Materials, where he learned about the entire business and excelled in all aspects. He would eventually make his way over to Oklahoma Roofing for the next 25 years. A company he truly loved and established many lifelong friendships there. Kevin not only performed his job well, but he did it with his infectious smile and without ever complaining. Kevin was a very kindhearted person who was loved by so many. An avid, and not to mention extremely skilled sportsman, he loved to fish, hunt and play golf any chance he could get. He was the kind of fisherman who entered many tournaments and more often than not, he would win those tournaments. During the last few years of his life, Kevin retired from the business due to a debilitating illness. He resided at the Mansion at Waterford assisted living whom we cannot thank enough for their love and support for Kevin and our family. In true Kevin fashion, he made many friendships there and the family would like to thank his favorite caretaker, Gigi, for caring for him like family. Along with Amber, Opie, Estella, Christian, Chastity and Des. Kevin is survived by his siblings, Debra Goss and husband Gregg of Glencoe, OK, Paula Simon, Mark Kooken Jr. and Micheal Kooken all of Oklahoma City. His nephews, Blake Simon, whom he affectionately nicknamed “ole reliable”, and RK Simon and wife Mindy.
